The longer the time of aluminum hydroxide mechanical ball-milling, the finer the particles, the smaller the average particle size, the larger the specific surface area, the more surface energy part of the mechanical energy is converted into a new surface, and the stronger the adsorption effect, thereby improving its interaction with surfactant bonding force. The smaller the particle size of aluminum hydroxide, the greater the reinforcement effect on the polymer substrate. The finer the single particle, the higher the surface energy, the easier it is to agglomerate.


Considering the economic benefits, it is appropriate to prepare micron-level aluminum hydroxide by ball-milling for 20 hours. The finer the particles of aluminum hydroxide powder, the larger the specific surface area, the higher the oil absorption rate; the coarser the particles of aluminum hydroxide powder, the smaller the specific surface area, the lower the oil absorption rate.
