Sulfur Recovery Tail Gas Hydrogenation SCOT Catalyst

1. The main purpose of sulfur recovery tail gas hydrogenation SCOT catalyst is to reduce the total sulfur emission of sulfur tail gas stack;

2. It has large surface area and pore volume, high strength, high hydrogenation activity and organic sulfur hydrolysis activity, and long service life;

3. The sulfur recovery tail gas hydrogenation SCOT catalyst is based on activated alumina as the carrier, cobalt(Co) and molybdenum(Mo) are attached, and a small amount of additives are added.

Product introduction 

The SCOT process is commonly used in the sulfur recovery tail gas hydrogenation process.

The basic principle is to heat the tail gas to 280 ℃ ~ 300 ℃, after entering the hydrogenation reactor, under the action of the sulfur recovery tail gas hydrogenation SCOT catalyst, the elemental sulfur and SO2 in the tail gas undergo hydrogenation reaction, and at the same time COS and CS2 A hydrolysis reaction is carried out.

All sulfides in the tail gas are converted into H2S, which is then absorbed by the solution (MDEA, etc.) and sent to the regeneration part, and the regenerated H2S is sent to the conventional Claus process.

 

The use of sulfur recovery tail gas hydrogenation SCOT catalyst can not only greatly reduce the fuel consumption of the online combustion furnace, but also make it possible to use saturated steam of about 5 MPa as a reheat energy source, thereby optimizing the process flow of the SCOT unit.

 

Product Basic Info

The SCOT device is a Claus follow-up device with extremely low operating pressure, so it is very important to reduce the resistance drop of the equipment.

Most of the quenching towers and absorption towers of the standard SCOT process use plate towers, and the total resistance drop of the two is about 20 KPa. Therefore, the process gas pressure entering the boundary area should be above 30 KPa, otherwise the energy consumption of the equipment will be increased.

 

The SCOT process is currently the most effective method for treating the tail gas of the Claus sulfur recovery unit.
